The employee will maintain all accounting records and billing records, work with accountant, pay all bills (check, electronic transfers and internet), handle all office administrative tasks, input of data with respect to office, practice and personal matters (including BNI); handle all filing (virtually all files are electronic); establish and maintain business networking systems and records; handle local and on-line backup systems. The employee will answer phones, deal with vendors, and deal on a limited basis with clients.The employee may accompany to court for trials and (rarely) hearings and may handle limited out-of-court tasks related to cases on which we have been engaged. Employee will maintain docket and calendars. The employee should have familiarity with the following programs: QuickBooks, Sage ACT!, Word Perfect X6, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat and should have familiarity with and the ability to instruct the attorney in MSWord 2010 and Excel. Employee will need to gain familiarity with all additional programs used by the firm.Presence in the office during normal working hours will be necessary, but some flexibility is possible. During the initial period, training is likely to be in the evening.Prior office experience is required; prior experience working in a law firm or for a litigator is useful, as is experience as litigation paralegal.Hours required will be as needed. It is anticipated that initially the job may be close to full-time. Once all systems are up and functioning, may decline to no less than 20-25 hours a week. It is expected that the firm will grow and with that growth, the hours available to work should be expected to increase.Salary will be not less than $14.00 hourly, will depend upon experience and will rise corresponding to the intelligence, resourcefulness and productivity shown by the employee and as permitted by the level of activity of the firm's law practice.
